Time Stops Tobago : Friendship Farm
“Time Stops Tobago” is the term phrased by the Caretaker of the Friendship Farm for the last 28 years, Mr. Derek Hearn. He coined the term based on the collective views and experiences from various visitors to the Farm, especially foreigners coming to Canaan Tobago for the first time and feeling such a magical, sureal and paradise escape from reality.
Friendship Farm is steeped in Tobago Colonial history, part of a wider 450 acre estate, initially the land facilitated in its inception two Dutch styled Sugar Cane mills dating back to 300 hundred years.
To this day both mills and their original structures still stand, and it is where we at Friendship Farm humbly call home. We extend a warm welcome to our online site and hope you can find the time one day to visit our farm in person.

What People Say About Us

- January 11th 2013
One of the best holiday riding experiences I've had. The trail is fantastic, covering a range of terrains with the highlight being the beach and the ride through the sea (be prepared to get your feet wet if the tide's up!). There's plenty opportunity for more experienced riders to put the horses through their paces as well as time to sit back and enjoy the scenery. I would highly recommend this as a fantastic, unique experience and a great way to see Tobago.

My friend and I travelled down to Tobago for vacation from the snow in Canada. We wanted to experience horseback riding along the beach and heard about Friendship Stables. We did some research regarding the stable options in Tobago and decided to go with Friendship. We were looking for an option that was economical, allow us to have more time actually riding the horses, and truly feel like an islander while exploring the route. Friendship Stables and the lovely people that work there offered these services and more 🙂 The owner was extremely nice and down-to-earth, lol also very funny and reminded my friend and I a little of Bob Marley 🙂 The horses were really sweet and calm natured and the ride was very scenic and long (which we loved). Overall we had an amazing experience and would definitely recommend to all first-time horse back riders!!!!
